Another blog bites the dust...
Thursday 12th October, 2006Peter de Haas falls victim of the 'I allow comments, but only the ones that suit me' style of blogging.
Really, what's the point of allowing people to comment if you're just going to delete them if they don't suit you. If you do delete them, at least have the courtesy to let them know and save them re-submitting.
FWIW, I thought that when he said "We keep coming and coming and coming and coming and coming and coming." Balmer was referring to the new Microsoft Viagra 2006 product, obviously not funny enough for Peter.
Funny how this article suddenly vanished off the front page too!
Thanks Peter, I'll be unsubscribing now.

Ben, I believe Peter can disable comments altogether now since you were just about the only one commenting there. ;-)

Ben, what's with the hair-trigger over things like this? Aren't you being a little premature in unsubscribing? Why pull out (of the discussion) when things are getting interesting?
Stiff upper lip man!
OK, I'll stop now :o)

His house, his rules. It's not for me to criticise what he does as playing the game is optional.
Last time I was on a blog that didn't appreciate my input I started getting comments removed and then ultimately got banned as I began to question the balance of the content.
I'll take the short route this time and just stop reading. As Vitor implied, I was possibly the only one anyway.

Ben,
Sorry to see that me removing your comment triggers this response. As I clarified on my blog I think I am entitled to the judgements whether or not a comments adds anything relevant.
I may have been to soon and direct with this reaction but some comments just don't make sense at all and I personally think they just distract from the intend blogpost.
I hope you'll reconsider based on my point of view. As you well know, I welcome a good discussion anytime.

Ben,
Not to overstay my welcome, but because you unsubsrcibed ;-){ Link }
I don't intend to take this out of proportion but I think you have a point and deserve the response.
O and the article { Link } didn“t fall of the frontpage, it is simply older than 7 days. It is far to important to hide ...

Peter,
On a personal level, I accept your apology, thanks. My tip for the future would be to send the commentator a quick email to explain that the comment had been pulled and perhaps even why.
As for the blog - As long as you're taking editorial tips from 'The German' I won't be rushing to post on there again. I prefer sites with a sense of humour.
