Blogs & Googles

Tuesday 8th November, 2005
As mention in several place, it seems Google have recently tweaked their engine resulting in a massively decreased number of Google sourced site hits. This has in the past led me to be a top Google hit for things such as Sonos, Dyson and IBM Strategy to name but a few.

The reason for this I didn't know but I'm wondering whether it's related to the new Google Blog Search tool; as with most Google things...it's in beta.

Google claim the blog search includes basically any site that is RSS enabled but, if necessary there will be a form to manually submit yourself as a blog. So can we safely assume that a standard Google search now devalues hits on Blogs?

Interesting - so your pagerank goes up but Google hits go down?

As you know my pagerank went down - and so did my Google hits by a factor of (conservatively) 10.

I think you might be onto something with that blog theory - hence my new tag line visible in the header of my site and kinda sorta borrowed from vowe...
