Michelin Challenge Bibendum - Berlin 2011

Wednesday 18th May, 2011
Pink Floyd, Davis Hasselhoff, Spandau Ballet - all things that might come to mind when you think of Berlin, but not the first place that springs to mind when you think of sustainable road mobility. However, Michelin Challenge Bibendum has come to Berlin in 2011 to talk about a cleaner, safer, future for transport in a low carbon world.

Being the only passenger on a big 52 seater diesel coach from airport to hotel, shows the event even has a distance to go itself with regards to reducing its carbon footprint but it's critical analysis like this which has brought me here. Through the use of improved technology, communications and planning we can improve efficiency in many areas and this is a perfect example of where, with a bit of effort, things could have a significant environmental clean-up.

Following my kind invitation from hosts Michelin - throughout the event I will be reviewing the latest technologies and innovations in the automotive world of Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen Fuel-cell cars and solar powered transport whilst crunching some numbers to give you the costs and science behind them.

Needless to say, it's going to be an exciting  couple of days...stayed tuned for more.
