Music Jukebox
Wednesday 20th October, 2004I have a dedicated server machine in my
home and I'm considering turning it into a nice big music jukebox by ripping
my CD collection. It could then be played through any PC machine in the
house or directly through the hi-fi system with a soundcard in the server.
The resistance lies in the whole ripping process. Is there an easy way or ripping a massive load of CD's without much manual input? (Obviously the disc will need to be changed). Also, assuming this will take many hours, would it be sensible to backup the results? I wouldn't want a hard drive corruption or loss to mean I had to start again from scratch. Maybe just burning as many tracks as I can to a DVD-R would be sensible.
Any experience you can share would be welcomed.
